Driving license obtained in European Union countries is recognized throughout its territory. A document issued in an EU member state is the basis for legal driving in all EU countries.  However, if the foreigner stays in Poland for at least 185 days a year or resides permanently, the driver’s license must be exchanged for a Polish one (please note that an international driver’s license cannot be exchanged for a Polish one). In most cases, the exchange of a driving license document is done without the need to pass a driving test (if the country that issued the license is a party to the Vienna Convention on Road Traffic), but there are exceptions to this rule.
